Hugo Bueno believes Wolves’ three-match unbeaten run is the reward for “a lot” of hard work on the training pitch.
The Spaniard returned to the starting eleven after Christmas and has played his part in Wolves’ upturn in results, with Wednesday’s draw at Everton even bringing a tinge of disappointment after two late dismissals for the hosts.
However, Bueno, who could have won it in injury time had it not been for a brilliant Jordan Pickford save, insists the group must continue to build on this momentum moving into the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
On another important point
“I think we did a great second half, but we couldn’t find a way in the last five or ten minutes to get our chances right. It’s a bit frustrating because I think we could have done more in the last five or ten. We just have to look at it, correct things and do it better next time.”
On being tougher to play against
“It’s been a lot [of hard work] to be honest. We are doing things well and it’s a third game unbeaten. We have a lot of positive things, but as the Gaffer said it’s not enough, we have to do more – we have to come here to win the game, because we can, we had a lot of good things, but a lot of work to do.”

On Mane starring again
“I’m really, really happy for him. He’s a great lad and works really hard. He gave us a boost – just like that he scored. His decision making has improved a lot, so I’m really happy for him. Hopefully he can still improve and do better.”
On his late chance
“It was a pity. I thought it was going in. My right foot, some of my teammates laugh at it, but it was close. That’s the way to hopefully one day scored.”
On taking confidence forward
“We did a great job at home against West Ham, so that gives us a lot of confidence. We know it can be hard for teams to play at our stadium, so we have to get our connections right with the fans and get the wins.”
