Andre | 'Things have finally started to come together'

Andre believes the Wolves players now have a better understanding of what Rob Edwards expects from them, and that is now starting to show on the pitch.

The Brazilian missed Tuesday’s trip to Manchester United through suspension, but watched the latest positive performance, which brought about a first point under the new head coach.

Speaking at Compton Park ahead of Saturday’s West Ham United clash, Andre reiterated the importance of building on recent positive performances and beginning to look forwards once more.

On watching Man United from afar

“I watched the match, and I think we had a very good performance. We took the opportunity of getting something positive from the match, and the goal will be to improve and always look upwards from here.

“We played well against Arsenal, we played well against Liverpool, we played well against Manchester United, and I think we need to maintain that against West Ham to be able to get our first victory.”

On things improving under Edwards

“After the first few weeks with Rob things have finally started to come together. We’re starting to understand what he wants for the matches. He wants us to keep hold of the ball, to increase the pressure, to improve overall. I think that time has been useful to establish the quality levels that he would like, and for us to keep up the good work.”

On contributing to the group

“I try to have an intensive attitude. I try to be aggressive without the ball in my area, I try to bring more quality to the game, but in that first stage it's important to build that intensity and be aggressive as a player in the midfield.

“I'm very happy having the opportunity to play with Joao. We are friends, I go to his house, he comes to my house. We've been through several situations together and we play in the national team together. It's a friendship and I support him, and I really hope he achieves success.”

On West Ham up next

“It is a good team, with good players, but I think we are. We are having our moments, and we have to take advantage of these positive matches that we had before. Plus, we are playing at home. I think tomorrow we'll have to give our life for the victory.”
