Hodge completes permanent move

Following four years with Wolves, midfielder Joe Hodge has joined Portuguese side CD Tondela on a permanent basis.

The 22-year-old signed for the Old Gold in the summer of 2021 from Manchester City and went on to play 13 times for the first-team, before spending his recent years out on loan.

Having impressed for the under-21s, Hodge debuted for the senior team at Chelsea in October 2022 and a first start followed soon after against Leeds United – both coming under the temporary stewardship of Steve Davis and James Collins.

The majority of the youngster’s appearances came during Julen Lopetegui’s tenure – seven in total, including against Liverpool and Arsenal, and in the Spaniard’s first Premier League game in charge – a dramatic win at Everton.

Having returned from injury, a loan spell with QPR followed in the 2023/24 campaign for the youngster, while last season he played 27 times for Huddersfield Town in League One.

Now, the midfielder departs for Tondela in Liga Portugal and all at Wolves wish him the best of luck for the future.
