Wolves Express | Gomes, Lopez and Bentley discuss the Portugal camp

Wolves Express comes from Portugal this week, as the podcast catches up with Rodrigo Gomes, Fer Lopez and Dan Bentley at the Old Gold's warm-weather training camp.

As the squad prepares for the 2026/27 Championship season, Cesar Peixoto has taken the group back to his home country of Portugal for seven days of graft in the blazing Iberian sunshine, and a trio of his players have joined the podcast to reflect on the opening week of pre-season.

Gomes is up first as the Portuguese wide-man discusses being part of a pre-season in his homeland, having missed out on Wolves' pre-season trip to Portugal last season as he was representing his country at the Under-21 European Championships.

He talks about what the players have been doing since they reunited at Compton Park last Monday, how Peixoto is setting the team up and what messages the head coach has been giving to the players to get them prepared for the start of the new campaign.

Lopez also features on the club's official quickfire podcast, as he talks about his successful loan spell back at Celta Vigo during the second half of last season, the stunning goal he scored just two days after returning to Spain and reuniting with his Wolves teammates this summer.

Finally, Bentley explains his role this pre-season as the only senior goalkeeper in Peixoto's squad, as Sam Johnstone continues his recovery from injury and Jose Sa is given extended time off following the World Cup.

Having celebrated his 33rd birthday on the first day of the warm-weather camp, Bentley chats about celebrating before he arrived as well as giving some insight into what the players have been doing so far this pre-season.

Released regularly during the off-season, Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
