Saiss all set for Leeds test

Romain Saiss has called on Wolves to take their first half performance against Brighton into Easter Monday's game against Leeds United at Elland Road (3pm).

Wolves fell to a 2-0 defeat to the league leaders at Molineux, with arguably the game's decisive moment coming on the stroke of half time as Anthony Knockaert fired low past Andy Lonergan to give the visitors the lead.

Knockaert went on to complete the scoring with his second ten minutes from time, but Saiss believes that there were positives for Wolves to take from the first half display.

"We started the game well," the midfielder said. "We played well in the first half and made it difficult for Brighton. Unfortunately then we gave them a goal right on half-time, and in the second half we weren't compact enough and we didn't play as well.

"I think we lost the game due to small details - if we had gone in at half-time at 0-0 then the second half might have been different.

"Brighton are a very good team - the best in this league. They've played together for a long time and have had the same manager for a long time. We gave them two goals today though, and conceding the first just before half-time changed the game."

The Easter fixture schedule offers Wolves an almost immediate chance to bounce back from that defeat with today's tough-looking trip to West Yorkshire, to play a Leeds side right in the mix for a play-off position.

Saiss continued: "It's a good game for us to have - a big stadium and a big crowd, so there's motivation to go out there and do well.

"If we keep our first half performance from the Brighton game and make sure we concentrate and play like that for 90 minutes, we have a good chance.

"It's important for us now to pick up wins and finish the season well - we will go to Leeds with the ambition to win."
