Struggling Blackpool pulled out all the stops to hold Wolves to goalless draw in a game of few clear cut chances at Bloomfield Road, albeit one where both sides were denied by the woodwork.
There were two changes to the Wolves side with George Saville making his full debut and Michael Jacobs starting in place of returning internationals Lee Evans and Bakary Sako respectively.
The visitors started strongly and the home defence had to clear a Saville free-kick as well as a corner from the new signing along with one from Scott Golbourne.
Wolves continued to press and after another Golbourne corner was headed behind by a defender, Saville over hit his flag kick from the right and the ball drifted out of play.
Blackpool broke from defence and when Nathan Delfouneso took a return pass from Andrea Orlandi, he scooped the ball wide from the edge of the box.
In the 23rd minute Danny Batth cleared from Delfouneso after a Wolves attack had broken down, and then a Jacobs header drew a fine save from Blackpool keeper Joe Lewis after a good ball into the box from Rajiv van La Parra (pictured).
Joan Oriol saw his low shot deflected narrowly wide of the post before , in the 37th minute, van La Parra ran into the box and clipped the ball onto the far post before Nouha Dicko was ruled offside in going for the rebound.
Shortly before the break Batth was wide from 22-yards with a low drive.

Four minutes into the second half, after a Golbourne cross had been cleared, Jacobs returned the ball into the box and when it was half cleared to Dave Edwards he shot wide from the 18-yard line.
On 55 minutes. Kenny Jackett made a double switch with Jacobs and van La Parra being replaced by James Henry and Sako.
Blackpool were inches away from breaking the deadlock in the 58th minute when Nile Ranger held off Batth’s challenge before hitting the bar with a rising shot from 12-yards.
A low Sako free-kick ran through to Lewis, and then the ball bounced to safety after Richard Stearman had hit a deep free kick into the Blackpool area.
Carl Ikeme made his only real save of the afternoon when he turned over a header from David Perkins and then, moments later, Batth headed wide after a Golbourne corner.
Leon Clarke, on as a substitute for Dicko, was fouled to the left of the Blackpool box but Golbourne’s free-kick was headed clear.
In the dying moments Edwards fired wide with a low shot from 20-yards and. at the other end, Ikeme saved well from home substitute Ishmael Miller.
