As Laura Cooper rose through the ranks at Villa Park, the talented full-back was a regular for the England youth teams.
Cooper then played for Derby County before joining Coventry while pursuing a degree in sports science at the University of Birmingham.
In the two years following her graduation and a year in Australia, she played for Boldmere St Michaels in the National League Division 1 Midlands, where she came up against Wolves on multiple occasions.
After seeing Cooper in action during those games, Dan McNamara seized the opportunity to sign the 26-year-old as soon as she became available in the summer of 2021. As a result of Cooper's arrival, the team's back line has been bolstered significantly.
