Promising South Korean international winger Jeong Sang-bin joined Wolves from K-League outfit Suwon Samsung Bluewings in January 2022, having enjoyed a breakthrough season at the start of the 2021/22 season, making 24 appearances in the top-flight of Korean football and scoring six times.
A talented right winger at youth level with both his club and on the international stage, Jeong has impressed during his early years as a professional, progressing from Bluewings’ academy and into their first-team during 2020, which included two appearances in the AFC Champions League group stages.
As an international, Jeong found the net four times during ten combined appearances for South Korea’s under-16 and under-17s, before being handed his senior debut for the Taegeuk Warriors in June as he came off the bench in a World Cup qualifying clash with Sri Lanka. Jeong marked his first appearance for his national team, where he played on the opposite wing to Wolves teammate Hee Chan Hwang, by scoring South Korea’s fifth goal of the game, just five minutes after being introduced.
Following his move to Wolves, Jeong headed out for his first taste of European football and to further his development in the Swiss Super League with an 18-month loan move to Grasshopper Club Zurich.
