Biography

Maximilian Kilman has developed into one of Wolves’ most reliable defenders, increasing his appearance tally each season over the past four years.

The defender initially signed for Wolves Academy from non-league football and has grown in a ball-playing central defender, capable of operating on either side of a back three.

The former England futsal player, who was part of the Fulham academy set-up, was playing for Maidenhead United at the start of the 2018/19 season when he was spotted by Wolves.

After switching black and white for gold and black, Kilman starred for Wolves under-23s in their title-winning Premier League 2 Division 2 campaign, before being handed his Premier League debut on the penultimate day of the 2018/19 season against his former side Fulham.

Once a fully-fledged member of the first-team, Kilman made his full senior debut for Wolves in a 4–0 home win against FC Pyunik in the Europa League qualifying stages, before a first Premier League start came against Sheffield United in December 2019.

Opportunities were more frequent during the 2020/21 season, when he made 20 appearances in the Wolves back line, and that tally grew to 34 under Bruno Lage in 2021/22.

The finest moment of the youngster’s career so far came in November 2021, when he headed home his first goal in professional football, helping Wolves to victory over Everton at Molineux.
