Rachael Quigley reflected on a “special year” after rounding off her debut season at the club with a 6-0 victory over Liverpool Feds on Sunday.
The Australian joined the club back in September, following an impressive trial period, and brought a wealth of experience, having represented a number of clubs in her homeland for the past 16 years.
The Adelaide-born attacker was able to share her experience with Dan McNamara’s group throughout the campaign, and rounded off the season impressively by coming off the bench to score twice in the 6-0 win, as the Old Gold finished runners up to Nottingham Forest.
On an enjoyable first season
“When I first came to the country, I didn’t know who I would sign for. When I started training with Wolves, the girls immediately took me in, and it felt like a big family.
“I’ve never felt more welcomed into a squad, and I think that’s also a reflection of how well we’ve done this year. What we have been able to do with the squad we’ve got, it’s been a special year.”

On exceeding expectations
“Only losing one, drawing four, and not finishing top is insane. As a matter of fact, we shouldn’t be anywhere near the top, and the fact that we came runners up shows the culture we have, the girls we have, and the coaching staff know exactly what they’re doing. It’s been really positive.”
On her favourite moment of the season
“I think personally, when I came on in the first game against Liverpool Feds and scored the 99th minute winner. The way the whole team got around it, for me, was a very special moment, and then to be able to watch that back, I will never forget that.”
On maintaining the momentum
“We’ve got testing on Tuesday, so we’ll come together as a group, and then we’ll have a big gap, which I think everyone needs that break. Then we will see what will happen from there and see if we can build from this season.”
