Destiney Toussaint is hoping Wolves Women can produce for 90 minutes in their next outing, after defeat to Burnley on the weekend.
The Old Gold were leading by a goal at the break, but the Clarets fought back to take all three points following a comeback in the second 45. Toussaint, who assisted Beth Merrick’s opener, has spoken about the need to perform in both halves ahead of Sunday’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup clash at Reading, where the forward feels there is ‘nothing to lose’ for Wolves against Championship opposition.
On being beaten
“It’s disappointing when the team doesn’t come away with the win. It was a tough one out there.
“I thought we had a great first half and then slowed down a little bit in the second half, we could’ve been better.
“We probably could’ve taken one or two more chances but it wasn’t meant to be and unfortunately it’s fine margins that won the game.”
On the first game back
“We’ve both not played in a while and that shows when it’s the first game back. We had a good strong start to the first half and maybe that showed in the second half with the lack of gameplay that we’ve had.
“We couldn’t quite maintain what we needed to and unfortunately we’ve not come away with three points today.”
On wanting the ball more
“I love it, to be honest – give me the ball more. We tried to get it out to me a few times but the ball just didn’t quite get there.
“I’m quite a direct player so I like to take on the full-back and go one v one. I managed to get in a few times but unfortunately we couldn’t get the ball out as wide as much as we could.
“When we did, we got a goal out of it. We were 1-0 ahead and feeling good at half-time. I don’t know what it was, we just didn’t maintain it in the second half and a worldie of a shot has won the game for them.”
On taking the positive and looking to Reading
“We’ve just got to build on today. We’ve lost the game but there are many more games to go so we’ve got to keep pushing, training hard, take our chances and be good in the second half.
“When games are tight like that against top teams in this league, hopefully one or two will fall our way like we deserve.
“I’m looking forward to Reading. Everyone loves the FA Cup. We’ve got nothing to lose, no point to prove so we’ve got to go out there, enjoy the game and do what we can.
“If we come away with something, then that’s great.”
