Wolves Women 3 (Morphet 30, George 65, Hughes 85) Stourbridge 0
Wolves Women produced a dominant display in their 3-0 win over local rivals Stourbridge to maintain their unbeaten record to the 2023/24 season.
Anna Morphet opened the scoring by tapping home from close range, and second half goals from Tammi George and Amber Hughes meant Dan McNamara's side have picked up seven out of a possible nine points so far.
The Old Gold had the first effort on goal early into the first half when Hughes gathered the ball in the middle of the park and drove forward before shooting on the edge of the area, but Libby Hart gathered for the Glassgirls.
Just after the 20-minute mark, Destiney Toussaint brought down a long ball over the top and darted into the box before striking a low-driven attempt, but Hart was equal to the chance and parried away for a corner.
Beth Merrick let fly from distance on the half-hour mark, but Hart parried away her quality effort but only as far as Morphet. Last weekend's goal scorer pounced and tapped home the opener from close range to take her tally to three goals in as many games. After the goal, Stourbridge manager Andy Fisher was shown a red card and sent to the stands.
Just before half-time, Sophie Levick was also shown a straight red for the Glassgirls after kicking the ball straight at Toussaint. The Stourbridge defender was shown a yellow earlier in the proceedings for time-wasting.
Half-time | Wolves 1-0 Stourbridge
Wolves showed dominance in the second period and came close to the second goal minutes in through Merrick, who unleashed a strike from distance, which went inches over the bar.
The Old Gold doubled their lead in the 65th minute through George, who hit a fantastic strike from the edge of the box to power over everyone and land in the far corner.
George was in the thick of the action again in the final 10 minutes, whipping a cross into the box, which Jade Cross brought down but couldn't get her shot off in time.
Hughes made it three for McNamara's side in the 85th minute after receiving the ball in the box. The forward turned the Stourbridge defender and slotted it into the bottom corner for the Old Gold to maintain their unbeaten start to the new season.
