The goalkeeper was out shopping when Dan McNamara’s side were drawn against West Ham United, a tie which will see the old gold come up against Women’s Super League opposition for the very first time. Turner has admitted it’s a mixture of nerves and excitement ahead of Sunday’s showdown at the New Bucks Head, while recognising there’s no pressure on Wolves who are facing a side two divisions above.
On the fixture itself
“I was actually in Primark shopping when we found out the draw, I was watching it on my phone.
“It’s a mixture of nerves and excitement. It’s going to be a tough test, but there’s also that excitement there that we’re playing against a Super League outfit which we’ve not had the chance to do yet. It’s for us to go out and enjoy more than anything.”

On the test they’re coming up against
“They’re not going to be a bad team, they’re going to be good. We just need to go out there and do what we do.
“We know what they’re going to be like and we know what they’re going to come at us with. We’ve got to make it as hard for them as possible – whether that means we don’t play how we normally do, that’s all we’ve got to do.”
On playing without pressure
“As much as we’ve said over the last couple of years that there’s been no pressure on us, I think last year there was very little but the further we got up the league the more pressure that came.
“This year, with winning it last year, there’s that little bit of pressure on us to win it again. It’ll be nice to go into something thinking there’s no pressure on us and we’ve just got to go and do what we’ve got to do.”
On using the fans to their advantage
“It will be good to get the fans down there on Sunday. It’s something they haven’t seen with us before, we haven’t played a Super League outfit.
“It will be good to get new and old fans down there to see the excitement of the game and watch us play.
“We’ve proved over the last couple of years that the fans are good for us – it’s proved that when we’ve played at Molineux and playing the likes of Albion.
“West Ham have got a good following but with our fans and how good they are, it will give us that extra twelfth man to push through it.”
