Wolves under-21s begin their 2024/25 Premier League 2 campaign on the road at Nottingham Forest on Monday evening.
Please note, due to Premier League broadcasting restrictions, Monday evening’s Premier League 2 fixture with Nottingham Forest will not be live streamed.
Following last season’s 10th placed finish, the youngsters in Old Gold are once again preparing for a campaign at the top level of development football.
Wolves eventually lost out in the first round of the play-offs at Sunderland in April, but continued to make strides throughout a season which saw five academy players make first-team debuts.
This time around, the under-21s are welcoming fresh faces into the group with second-year scholars from last season now moving up into James Collins’ squad.
The Old Gold have endured a rigorous pre-season programme in preparation for the new campaign, with a training camp in Bratislava and fixtures against the likes of non-league Nantwich Town and Hednesford Town ensuring the players are ready for what’s to come.
Their first opponents in PL2, Forest, finished three points and four places behind them in the league table last time out.
The two sides last met in November 2023 and each took a share of the spoils following a 2-2 draw as Wolves came from two goals down to claim a point thanks to goals from Ty Barnett and Matty Whittingham.
