AFC Bournemouth 5 (Moriah-Welsh 41, Adu-Adjei 45+1, Sadi 51, 56, Clarke 76) Wolves 1 (Kandola 90+1)
Wolves under-21s will exit the Premier League Cup following a heavy defeat at the hands of AFC Bournemouth on Monday evening.
The Cherries scored four goals in a 15-minute period either side of half-time, putting the Old Gold to the sword in a clinical period of play, before adding a fifth later on in the half. Substitute Kam Kandola nodded home a consolation goal in added time, but by that point the game was well and truly over.
The result means that Wolves are now out of the competition with one game remaining in the group stage, with their two points unable to catch both Bournemouth and Norwich City on 10.
Wolves began on the front foot and created chances early on at the Silverlake Stadium, with Marvin Kaleta getting around his man before forcing goalkeeper Cam Plain into a save at his near post.
Owen Farmer then came close as he was played in down the inside left channel by Matty Whittingham before unleashing a powerful effort with his left boot that cannoned back off the crossbar.
Moments later, the same two combined but Farmer dug out a cross to the back post this time where Aaron Keto-Diyawa was waiting to connect with a strike that forced Plain to save.
At the other end, Daniel Adu-Adjei had a glorious opening with his header after Dominic Sadi had picked him out with a cross, before the latter forced Lewys Benjamin into a comfortable save.
The visitors were forced into a first half change on 35 minutes when Leo Lopes hobbled off and was replaced by Josh Esen.
And from there, Bournemouth were able to capitalise four minutes from the break as they took the lead. Nathan Moriah-Welsh played a ball out wide and didn’t stand and admire, as he made his way into the box and after Finn Tonks sent in a low cross, the ball was teed up for Moriah-Welsh who fired into the bottom corner.
The Cherries doubled their advantage in first half stoppage time as Sadi and Kian Tydeman neatly combined before Adu-Adjei spun inside the area and directed his attempt past Benjamin.

Ben Winterburn so nearly added a third five minutes into the second half as his header crashed back off the bar, but Bournemouth didn’t have to wait long after for number three.
Sadi was afforded time and space on the ball as he let fly 25 yards from goal and watched his effort arrow into the back of the net and past Benjamin.
And it was four shortly after as Wolves gave the ball away in their own half, straight to the feet of Moriah-Welsh. He gave it to Sadi and the midfielder did the rest, closing in on the away penalty area before cutely curling into the corner.
The Old Gold searched for a goal to give them some kind of hope and it almost came through Farmer’s header, but he was denied on the line by Max Kinsey who had positioned himself perfectly.
Leon Chiwome and Harry Birtwistle were both introduced by James Collins for the final exchanges, but they were unable to prevent Bournemouth’s fifth. Adu-Adjei made a run down the right and had the vision to pick out substitute Ashley Clarke who connected with the cross to net with his first touch, just seconds after coming on.
Substitute Kandola claimed a consolation goal for Wolves in added time as Ty Barnett’s free-kick was headed back towards goal by Alfie Pond where Kandola was waiting to glace home.
