Wolves under-21s travel to Nottingham Forest in Premier League 2 on Friday evening.
Fresh from Monday’s 2-1 victory over Southampton at Aggborough, James Collins’ side are swiftly back in action at the Nigel Doughty Academy.
However, the Old Gold come up against an in-form Forest side, led by Warren Joyce, who are unbeaten in six games in all competitions.
More recently, the Reds won their first ever EFL Trophy match following a 2-0 victory at Carlisle before defeating Nice in the International Cup, another first, by a goal to nil at the City Ground.
The two sides are evenly matched coming into the PL2 encounter with Forest in 13th on nine points from six games, while Wolves sit just below on goal difference.
Collins’ youngsters are in a strong vein of form themselves and have lost just two of their last nine in all competitions.
This is the first meeting between the two sides at under-21 level since April 2022. Forest won that one thanks to a Will Swan goal, however it was the Old Gold who went on to gain promotion via the play-offs that season.
