Farmer and Fraser up for PL2 Player of the Month

Wolves under-21 duo Owen Farmer and Nathan Fraser have been nominated for the PL2 Player of the Month award following outstanding displays throughout April.

Between the two of them, the forwards racked up an impressive nine goals and each scored a hat-trick in 5-0 home victories.

Farmer, who has stepped up from the under-18s in the second half of the campaign, inspired the old gold to a five-goal win over Everton at Aggborough, as his first half treble helped secure three points on Easter Monday.

The youngster was also on the scoresheet as James Collins’ side put five past Crystal Palace, in a game where Fraser stole the headlines with a hat-trick of his own – a well overdue reward for his tireless efforts leading the line.

And Fraser was at it again, making it five goals in two games as his brace on the final day at Manchester City capped off a highly productive month in front of goal for the 21s, who scored 15 times in just five games.

Farmer’s tally of goal involvements also included two assists, with Fraser playing his part in two of Farmer’s three against the Toffees as the duo ran defences ragged.

Farmer and Fraser face competition from Harvey Blair (Liverpool), Carlos Borges (Manchester City), Luke Harris (Fulham), James Norris (Liverpool), Cameron Peupion (Brighton & Hove Albion) and Jack Wells-Morrison for the award.

Details of the winner will be announced next week.
