The two sides go head-to-head at Vale Park having already secured progression from Group C into the knockout stages.
Vale have made a steady return to League One following their promotion via the play-offs last season, collecting 16 points from their opening 13 games. Darrell Clarke’s men sit 16th and just like Wolves, have claimed back-to-back victories in the Papa John’s Trophy.
The old gold were winners on the road at Shrewsbury Town and Stockport County, leaving the third and final fixture against Vale to determine who finishes first – the Valiants currently top the group on goal difference.
Wolves returned to winning ways in PL2 on the weekend, securing their first three points since August following a 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the New Bucks Head.
