Rodrigo Gomes says that second half was one to enjoy for Wolves, who fought back from a goal behind to comprehensibly beat Stoke City.
After conceding in the opening stages, the Old Gold needed to show their character, and through two rebound goals by Gomes, they’d turned things around before the interval.
A Raul Jimenez penalty made things more comfortable, and being on the pitch, soaking in the atmosphere from the stands, was an enjoyable experience for Gomes and his teammates, as momentum continues to build this season.
On three wins in a week
“It feels amazing. We are in a good momentum, and we need to keep going. It was an amazing day. We conceded first but we worked hard to win the game and did an amazing game, winning 4-1, and we need to keep going and keep working.
“It was a very good goal [by Stoke] in the first minute. We needed to keep doing our stuff, our things, following the plan the gaffer gave us and we did that. In the end we won the game, we played very well, and we deserved it.”

On getting his goals
“It’s always good to score goals and help the team win. The most important thing is the pack, the team, and I’m very happy to help with goals. Hopefully I’ll score more and get more assists, and there’s more goals to come.
“During my short career I’ve scored a few goals like that. Even last season, the first goal I scored was after a penalty, and Aston Villa here as well after a deflection. I’m always alive in those situations, it’s not the most beautiful goal in the world but it’s a goal, it counts, and I’m very happy.”

On enjoying the performance
“It was perfect. Of course, we were winning and scored for 3-1, then enjoyed the game. We controlled the game and did our things, we did our patterns, our work, the things that we’d been working on since the first day of pre-season. We’re playing very good and need to keep this momentum.
“The ambience at Molineux was amazing, the fans helping us. We conceded first but they never left us, they were with us the whole game and we’ll need that. It’s going to be a tough season, a big season, and we need them by our side and keep performing. Us together, we’ll do a very good season.”
