David Moller Wolfe says he and his Wolves teammates are determined to finish the campaign on a positive note this weekend and set the foundations for a positive response next season.
The Norwegian returned to the side for Sunday’s final Molineux game of the campaign against Fulham and put in a solid performance as the Old Gold finished with a point.
This coming Sunday the curtains are drawn on a tough season for the club, but with preparations already underway to begin the rebuild, Wolfe hopes the team will sign off for the summer with a win, which would lift Wolves above Burnley on the final day.
On the final Molineux outing
“It was an okay performance from us, I think. We had enough chances to win the game, but we needed to be a bit more ruthless, everyone, when we got chances, and be more decisive in the final moments, and then we would have got the three points.
“It was tough last week, and the last weeks have been tough because we've been conceding easy goals, and way too many at set pieces. It was time to show good character.”
On the players being behind Edwards
“100 per cent. Since they've come in, they've been fantastic, the whole staff. Everyone is fully behind him. We should have won the game, and that would be an even better end to the season here at home.
“We’ve still got one game left, and don't want to finish bottom of the league, so it’s a big game next week against Burnley. We hope to go above them on the table.”

On getting his opportunity
“It was nice. It’s obviously been tough for me, not playing as much as I want, and I've been training very hard, trying to do everything to get back in the team. I was happy with 85 minutes on the pitch. I was a bit tired at the end because I haven't played as much lately, but I'm satisfied.
“I had a run to the goalkeeper, where I was wondering why I did it on the way back home again. Then it was better to get some fresh legs for the last five, ten minutes.”
On signing off at Burnley
“We wanted to give the fans some hope for next season. We wanted to finish on a positive and a point on Sunday, the way the season has been going, is positive, I think. So we were happy with that.
“It would be nice bringing more positive vibes to the next season, where we have a clear goal that we want to go straight back up, so that will be important.
