Wolves star Rodrigo Gomes has been challenged by former England winger Shaun Wright Phillips to recreate classic Joao Moutinho goals as part of the latest ‘Premier League Masterclass’.
In the 15-minute video feature, which is now available to watch on Wolves TV and Wolves’ official YouTube channel, the Portuguese wide man is joined at Compton Park by Wright-Phillips as they pair reflect on Gomes’ career to date before taking to the training pitch to try and replicate a trio of Moutinho’s iconic goals for the Old Gold.
Gomes’ masterclass was recorded at the training ground by Premier League Productions two weeks ago and first shown on the international broadcast during the build-up to the Monday night top flight fixture against Brentford, which saw Wolves fight back from two goals down to add another point to their ever-increasing tally.
The first half of the masterclass sees Wrigh-Phillips chat with Gomes about his footballing journey so far and how that led him to signing for Wolves in summer 2024.
Now in his second season with the Old Gold, Gomes looks back at match clips from his Wolves career, explaining why he uses certain techniques at certain times and revealing his favoured position, having starred as both a winger and wing-back during his spell at Molineux.
