Rob Edwards and his staff have won the League Manager’s Association’s Everest Performance of the Week Award, following Wolves’ dramatic win over Liverpool last week.
The LMA panel, comprising of Jess Creighton, Les Ferdinand MBE, Sir Alex Ferguson CBE, Barry Fry, Chris Hughton, Mick McCarthy, Martin O’Neill OBE, Stuart Pearce MBE, Clare Tomlinson, Carla Ward, and Rachel Yankey OBE, voted Wolves as the latest winners, after Edwards’ side secured back-to-back wins under the Molineux lights.
Rodrigo Gomes opened the scoring on the night and, after Mohamed Salah equalised for the visitors, Andre’s deflected strike earned Wolves a big three points at Molineux, and now the Everest Performance of the Week Award.
Each week, nominations come from all Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two fixtures, and it’s the third time the Old Gold have won the award.
Wolves have won the award on three previous occasions – Nuno Espirito Santo following the 2019 win at Manchester City, Bruno Lage for the club’s comeback win at Villa Park in 2021 and in 2024 after a 4-2 win at Chelsea under Gary O’Neil.
At Compton Park last week, Edwards posed with his backroom staff of Rui Pedro Silva, Harry Watling, Paul Trollope and Danny Alcock.
