Hugo Bueno’s curling strike against Arsenal has been nominated for the Guiness Goal of the Month award for February 2026.
The Spaniard notched the first goal of his Premier League career, and his second senior goal in gold and black, when he fired an unstoppable effort into the top corner of the net to help his side fight back and earn a point against the league leaders.
After finding themselves two goals behind heading into the final half hour at Molineux, Wolves fought back valiantly in a sensational second half showing, where Bueno’s strike and a late finish from Tom Edozie snatched a point.
However, the goal of the evening belonged to Bueno, and it was the left wing-back’s corner which was kept alive by a clever turn from Mateus Mane which began the move for the goal.
When Santiago Bueno played the ball right to his namesake, Hugo still had plenty to do, but the defender cut back on his favoured left foot and whipped a stunning strike into the top corner from the edge of the box, beating the fingertips of David Raya and giving the goalkeeper no chance.
