Sam Johnstone admitted everything went wrong in Wolves’ 3-0 Premier League defeat to Fulham, which left the side still winless in their opening 10 games of the season.
Wolves struggled throughout the 90 minutes against a Fulham side who came into the game off the back of four successive top flight defeats, going behind after just nine minutes, before the hosts added another two goals in a dismal second half for the Old Gold.
Johnstone was forced into making several key saves to stop Fulham from ramping up the scoreline even higher at Craven Cottage, and the keeper believes the players should be ‘embarrassed’ by their display in west London.
On defeat at Craven Cottage
“It was frustrating. Embarrassing. It’s not good enough and we need to do better. We should be embarrassed, and they might not want to hear it, but we obviously apologise to the fans.
“We’re trying our best, but we have to keep going. We’ve got good players and we need to turn it around quickly.”

On what went wrong against Fulham
“Pretty much everything. We go down to 10 men quite early. We concede early, and then it’s difficult.
“It’s always difficult in the Premier League, so to have a man down and to not be on it, to try and get results.
“I’m being completely honest. I think pretty much everything went wrong.”
On the feeling inside the changing room
“It’s difficult to find the words. There’s a lot of emotions and it’s very difficult at the minute.”
