Jorgen Strand Larsen was delighted to make such an impact off the bench as he found the back of the net twice in the closing 10 minutes to snatch Carabao Cup victory for Wolves against West Ham United.
The Norwegian – who came off the bench with his side 2-1 down – formed a two-up-top partnership with fellow substitute Sasa Kalajdzic late on in the second-round tie at Molineux and the pair created a multitude of problems for the West Ham defence which led to Strand Larsen’s brace – turning the game on its head.
On the victory against West Ham
“It was obviously a very nice comeback for us. I think it was a fair game in the first half, but I think by the end of the half, we were the best team.
“But then we switched off a little bit in the second half, and we conceded two goals, which we need to improve, because we can't keep conceding that way.
“But then again, it was good when we came back and it was a blessing to score two goals in front of all the fans.”
On making an impact off the bench
“It’s definitely nice to make an impact. When the crowd is going here, it’s one of the best feelings ever, so it’s really nice.
“It was two nice goals too, and I should have had a hat-trick too actually, but for two goals in 15 minutes, it’s not too bad.”

On scoring twice in two minutes
“I saw Andre was loading up and I thought, ‘Impossible. This isn’t going in!’ I’ve just got to get ready for the rebound. But I got a bit lucky because it came straight to me and I just about got a clean shot, but then I managed to find the top of the net.
“Then, the second goal was a great cross. I think we created such a momentum, especially after Sasa came on. Me and him, we are quite big and we can be quite annoying to play against, so we got some room because of that.
“I think players like Jhon [Arias] and JJ [Bellegarde] and Fer [Lopez] will enjoy playing around us. We created some problems for them in the last 10 minutes and I think that was the reason why we turned it around.”
On getting on the end of Tchatchoua’s cross
“I’ve had some good deliveries already in these first two games. Ki [Hoever] has been also doing a lot of good crossing and throughout the pre-season. It’s all about them keep doing it, because obviously a striker wants to score every chance that he gets, but it’s not how it works.
“At least I’m off going now, and it’s good getting back as I ended the last season with some injuries, and also had a few hits already this season, so I’m glad to be back scoring, because it’s a bit of a relief.”
On gaining momentum for the weekend
“We all know that the most important thing for us now is to focus on Saturday and get back winning in the Premier League. But this is what we need.
“We need to come back in these games and show that we have the spirit, show that the team is ready, and definitely that we can be difficult to play against at our home stadium, at Molineux.
“It’s really important for us because we would all be going home with our heads down if we lost 2-1 again tonight.”
On the support of the Molineux crowd
“It’s always special. Every minute since I came to the club has been extremely special. I have to say thanks to them and it’s important that they are behind our backs when things are going bad too, because we need that backing.
“We are a very energetic group, and with the staff too, they are all over the place sometimes, and they want to give us so much energy, and it’s important that we create a good atmosphere here at Molineux.”
