Strand Larsen claims April Player of the Month award

Jorgen Strand Larsen has been voted as Wolves’ SUDU Player of the Month for the first time during an incredible 100 per cent winning month for the team in April.

In what was statistically the best ever month for Wolves in the Premier League, in which the Old Gold won all five of their top flight matches, the Norwegian striker has topped the poll for the most influential player.

Strand Larsen went into April off the back of two goals in the final game of March against Southampton, before following that up with another pair of match winners to help down West Ham United at Molineux and Ipswich Town on the road.

With these goals, the 25-year-old became the first Wolves player in history to score in three successive Premier League wins. He then extended the record by scoring in the fourth win in a row as Wolves claimed the points at home against Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite a blank in Wolves’ 1-0 win at Old Trafford, the Norwegian was back among the goals two weeks ago when he doubled his team’s advantage at home to Leicester City as Vitor Pereira’s side made it six top flight wins in a row for the first time since 1970.

Strand Larsen was also nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award and the PFA Player of the Month after his impressive displays in gold and black during April, while also receiving the most ever votes from supporters on the Wolves App for the monthly club award poll and earning the biggest winning margin.

The striker claimed 54.2% of the public vote, ahead of Andre (15.7%) in second place and the joint-third duo of Joao Gomes and Emmanuel Agbadou (7.34%).
