Lemina | 'We deserved the win'

Mario Lemina praised the ‘incredible’ late cameo of Pablo Sarabia, as the forward produced 10 minutes of quality to guide Wolves to a comeback win against Tottenham Hotspur at Molineux.

The Spaniard stuck an impressive, volleyed equaliser four minutes after coming onto the pitch, before setting up Lemina for the winning goal in the final minute of the match, and the Gabon midfielder felt the three points his side claimed were what they deserved.

On winning from behind

“I think we played well, especially in the second half. We conceded an early goal and it was difficult, but after that, the tactic was on and we did well after that.

“We’ve been pressing them so high on the pitch and the ending was amazing because we controlled the game on the pitch more than them and we deserved this win.

“We can now go in the international break with a fresh mentality, a fresh positive mentality and we’re really happy with what we’ve got.”

On leaving it late

“I was scared, I’m not going to lie. We really pushed hard and the subs who came on were amazing. We could see with the goal of Sarabia, and after the goal, we didn’t drop, and we still pushed on.

“We pushed really hard and we scored the second one. I think overall in the game, we deserved the win.”

On Sarabia’s excellent cameo

“It’s not easy when you’re not playing often, but he’s been working so hard every day. We’ve been talking to him, he’s been talking to us and pushing us so hard, and I think that he really deserves this goal.

“I can tell that also the pass of Cunha was amazing for the shot. But that’s the kind of goal we want to see all the time. It was incredible touches, but we know the quality of Pablo, and that’s what he gave us today, so a massive congratulations to him.”

On the Molineux support

“It’s amazing. It’s really amazing. The sensation, the fans, I think we all deserve it because we’ve been pushing really hard and they’ve been with us since the beginning of the game, and the beginning of the season.

“I think we should give the credit to them because they deserve it so much.”

On a rare game without VAR incident

“To be honest, we feel so unlucky about the VAR, but all we can do is continue to work hard to get to the next game, and work really hard to get the luck so we can win the games without these kinds of problems.

“But they’re human beings, they can make mistakes, and I’m not going to blame them so much, but when it’s often it’s frustrating.”
