Sa | On his new contract and playing under O'Neil

Jose Sa says he is “happy” his future at Molineux is sorted and he’s looking forward to helping Wolves evolve, during a period of change at the club.

The goalkeeper signed new terms at Molineux recently and celebrated the news by helping his club to a crucial Premier League victory over Manchester City last time out. The 30-year-old has now turned out more than 80 times for Wolves and is playing under his third head coach in Gary O’Neil and the Portuguese stopper is now prepared to give everything for the man in the dugout.

On signing a new contract

“I'm happy, I'm here to help the team and happy with the new contract. The future is here, I'm here to do my best. We have players here who can help and it's with them we have to work and play all the games.”

On things coming together

“We continue to work, the coach has been here a short period and sometimes we have to adapt to his ideas too. We are working very well, learning what he wants us to do. Gary is here with us, we have to work with him and die for him on the pitch.”

On a big win over Man City

“It was a very important result for us and we worked for the win. We knew it would be tough and we had to play with heart and everything we had because City are the best team in the world. It was amazing. All the players, they are dangerous, but we did a very good job to protect the goal.

“Now, we will do our best to win the [Villa] game, we always want to win the game - it's why we are here.”
