Internationals | Hwang bags for South Korea

Wolves attacker Hee Chan Hwang was back in the goals over the weekend as international football returned for a selection of Bruno Lage’s first-team players.

On Friday, Hwang scored a brilliant opener in South Korea’s friendly with Costa Rica, which eventually finished 2-2 thanks to a late equaliser courtesy of Tottenham Hotspur’s Heung-min Son.

The following day, Ruben Neves played the full 90 of Portugal’s thumping 4-0 win over Czech Republic, which also saw Matheus Nunes feature for the final 13 minutes off the bench.

Fellow Wolves men Jose Sa and Pedro Neto were unused substitutes for Portugal, who are back in action against Spain tomorrow evening.

Elsewhere, Nathan Collins was representing the Republic of Ireland in Scotland. His lay off was smashed home by John Egan after 18 minutes, giving the defender an assist, but the Irish went on to lose 2-1.

Finally, Matija Sarkic had a watching brief from the bench as Montenegro fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat away at Bosnia & Herzegovina.

All first-team players currently away on international duty have a second fixture during the early part of the week, before all begin their return to Compton Park.
