Despite his heroics on the afternoon, the Wolves goalkeeper was unable to help his side to a victory to kick-off the new campaign, with Leeds United earning all three points with a 2-1 win.
But Sa was trying his best to keep Wolves in the match and stop the Lilywhites from extending their advantage on their home patch.
With Leeds one-goal up heading into the final ten minutes of the contest, the Portuguese stopper was at full stretch to react quickly to keep out Patrick Bamford’s header from close-range – somehow managing to move across goal with quick feet and palm the ball around the upright.
Sa faces competition to pick up the first ever Castrol Save of the Month award from Illan Meslier (Leeds United), Nick Pope (Newcastle United), Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur), Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa), David Raya (Brentford), Danny Ward (Leicester City) and Dean Henderson (Nottingham Forest).
Voting closes at 12pm on Monday 12th September.
