Neto on starting the fightback

Pedro Neto says Saturday’s victory at Southampton was crucial, following a run of three games without a win in the Premier League.

It was the Portuguese who got the ball rolling on a remarkable comeback at St Mary’s Stadium, firing home from Adama Traore’s cross. Raul Jimenez then added two goals of his own to secure a victory which the impressive Neto values very highly.

On getting back to winning ways

“We think game after game, I think that all the games are important, this one for us was a little bit more important, because we couldn’t get the results we wanted in the last games. So, it was very important for us and we are already focused on the next one.

“It was a very good result. We were coming from difficult games, we were losing 2-0, but 3-2 was very good for us and I think that we are already motivated for the next game.”

On getting one back early

“It was very important because scoring early in the second-half, the team gets more nervous and we have more time to do the other goals, and we can do it, so it was fantastic. I think that it was massive team work.”

On looking to Liverpool

“It’s a game like the other games, other teams don’t like to play with us because we are a very tough team and we fight until the end, and it’s what we’re going to do.”
