Away goals in Turin delight Jimenez

Raul Jimenez believes the three away goals Wolves scored in Turin on Thursday evening provide a healthy advantage when returning to Molineux for the second leg.

The Mexican joined Romain Saiss and Diogo Jota on the scoresheet against Torino, producing a cultured finish following a powerful run. Although the Italian side claimed two goals of their own, Jimenez insists Wolves should approach the second leg next week in confident mood after an impressive performance away from home.

On three away goals

“That’s very good for us. It’s a very good advantage for us to score three goals away, now we have to keep doing the same in the league and then next week in the Europa League to get into the group stage.

“It’s amazing to score a goal as a forward, I think it’s the best thing in football, so I’m going to keep working to score more goals.”

On gaining the advantage

“I’m very happy to be part of this amazing win here in Italy. We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we did it great. We did very good things.

“Unfortunately, they scored a last-minute goal, so we have to keep improving and next week we have to finish this.

“Maybe the first minutes are difficult, but then we get into the game, we do what we normally do and that’s why we go back to Wolverhampton with the advantage.”

On a tight-group

“I think all of us are doing our best, all of us doing what we have to do inside the pitch.

“The guys that are outside of getting to the pitch the same, they’re running and fighting for all the ball, so that’s amazing and we want to keep doing the same.”
