Costa Joins Wolves

Exciting winger checks in on loan

Wolves have swooped to boost their squad ahead of the new Sky Bet Championship season by signing exciting winger Helder Costa from Benfica.

The first arrival after the Fosun Group’s takeover of the club sees Portuguese Under-23 international Costa make the move to Molineux on a season long loan, subject to international clearance.

Costa, 22, is a winger who came through the ranks at Benfica and started his senior career with their ‘B’ team.

His first top division experience came during a loan spell with Deportivo de La Coruna in Spain’s La Liga from the start of 2015, where he made six appearances from the bench.

He spent last season on loan with Monaco in Ligue 1 in France, making 25 appearances and scoring three goals.

Wolves are also close to concluding a deal with Atletico Madrid to bring in Portuguese international defender Silvio on a permanent deal.

A deal is in place subject to Silvio formalising the terms of his departure with Atletico Madrid.

As widely reported, Wolves have also held talks with the representatives of Benfica midfielder Pele.

However, the player has other options to consider and he is unlikely to be joining the club.
