Quiz | Wolves' first goalscorer of the season

By opening the scoring in Tuesday evening's Carabao Cup second round tie, Rodrigo Gomes scored Wolves' first goal of the new season to get the Old Gold off the mark for 2025/26.

After two Premier League games without finding the back of the net, Wolves burst into life in midweek as Gomes pounced on a rebound after Hee Chan Hwang's penalty came back off the post to put the hosts ahead at Molineux, before Jorgen Strand Larsen added two more goals late on to secure passage into the third round.

Gomes' strike was only the fourth time in the last 25 years when Wolves' first goal of the season was not scored in a league fixture, with two others also previously coming in the League Cup, while the opening goal of the 2019/20 campaign was in the qualifying round of the Europa League.
