For the final time this season, Wolves play host at Molineux, with Brentford visiting on the Premier League final day, and below are the main talking points ahead of kick-off.
1 | Team news
After his goal and assist against Crystal Palace in midweek, Jorgen Strand Larsen is a doubt for this weekend, with the Norwegian having been taken off on 67 minutes at Selhurst Park, and Vitor Pereira confirming the striker will be assessed in the team's final training session on Saturday before considering him for a place in the squad against Brentford. The head coach confirmed Tommy Doyle and Sam Johnstone would remain on the sidelines this weekend with the pair continuing to work on individual recovery programs as they have not overcome injuries which have left them out of action in recent weeks. Following six changes to his starting line-up on Tuesday evening, it is yet to be seen if Pereira will revert to the side which started in the last home game against Brighton.
Thomas Frank confirmed Aaron Hickey will be in the Brentford squad for their final trip of the season to Molineux on Sunday, seeing the defender return after an 18-month absence. Frank confirmed the rest of his squad which were included in the defeat against Fulham at the Gtech Community Stadium last weekend will be available again, however, one fit player who won’t be in the squad is Ben Mee, who is not going to travel to the Black Country having played his last game for the club last time out. Other absentees include midfielder Vitaly Janelt, who has recently had surgery to address an issue in his heel, and Josh Dasilva (knee), while Fabio Carvalho (shoulder) is also unlikely to feature.

3 | Journey to Sunday
While Vitor Pereira will be pleased Sunday’s season finale against Brentford has no ramifications for the club’s future, he’ll still want to end on a high. The Portuguese masterminded a run of six wins on the spin across March and April, which ensured survival has long been secured. However, since victory over Leicester City, the Old Gold have tailed off, suffering defeats to Manchester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace. Although Emmanuel Agbadou and Jorgen Strand Larsen were on target at Selhurst Park on Tuesday, it wasn’t enough as the Eagles bagged four against a much changed eleven. Prior to the defeat to the Seagulls, Wolves had won three on the spin at Molineux, so will look to end on a high on Sunday.
Brentford still hold an outside chance of sneaking into Europe, depending on other results and Chelsea’s Europa Conference League outcome next week. Their hopes were damaged with defeat to Fulham last time out however, as the Bees surrendered a 2-1 lead, as the Cottagers stormed back to win 3-2 after the break. Previously, the Bees had been on a four-match winning run, which has rocketed them into the European conversation. On their last two away outings Thomas Frank’s side beat Nottingham Forest and then Ipswich Town, and then put four goals past both Brighton and Manchester United at the Gtech Community Stadium. They’ll hope to bounce back from the Fulham loss and finish the campaign strongly.
4 | Title momentum builds against Bees
Wolves began 2018 with a comprehensive victory over Brentford, which kept Nuno Espirito Santo’s men on course for promotion to the Premier League. After a goalless first half, Ruben Neves magic opened the scoring, as it often did that season. The Portuguese’s stunning free-kick beat now Wolves stopper Dan Bentley and set the hosts on their way. Barry Douglas and Diogo Jota added the second and third to complete the latest thrilling Molineux victory of what turned out to be a stunning 2017/18 Championship campaign for the club.
