Preparing To Battle | Pedro Neto

Pedro Neto shares his typical matchday routine before arriving at Molineux, ready for action.

In the hotel pre-match

“It depends. The night before the game I’ll play a little bit of PlayStation, a lot of time with Ruben [Neves] and Joao [Moutinho]. The next day, if the game is at night, I’ll try to sleep a little bit, but if I don’t want to, I’ll play a little bit more PlayStation so I can be distracted from the game, to enjoy, and when I arrive at the game, I get my focus on.”

Pre-match meal

“All the time I eat pasta, with tomatoes and meat or fish.”

The coach journey in

“On the way to the stadium I sit in front of Nelson [Semedo]. I listen to music and Nelson is doing too, so we are focused on what we have to do.”

Pre-match emotions

“I’m quite chilled. Of course, I have this little bit of excitement to play, but I feel comfortable and well because I’ll be doing what I like to do.”

Meeting the opposition

“If it’s my friend, I’ll speak with him before and after the game to ask how things are – it’s normal.”

Pre-match music

“I listen to a lot of music before the game, it depends on the vibe and what I need to get ready. Just before the game maybe something to relax.”

Rituals before the game

“I just pray and ask God to help me in the game.”

The teams are in

“We study the team we play against before the game, then I just focus on what we have to do, and what I have to do individually.”

In the tunnel

“I’m thinking that I’m living my dream and I want to enjoy all the moments.”
