Wolves Unpacked | Did Wolves actually play well against Man City?

The latest episode of Wolves Unpacked is out now, as hosts Dave Edwards and James Bird cast an analytical eye over the Premier League opener against Manchester City.

Going on a deep dive into the tactics and intricacies of how the Old Gold fell to a four goal defeat to Man City, Edwards and Bird believe there were still positive signs of things to come from Vitor Pereira's group.

In the latest episode of Wolves Unpacked, the pair discuss how the players stuck well to Pereira's game plan for most of the first half, but why just two mistakes during the first 45 minutes saw the team go 2-0 down into the half time break, and Edwards gives his take on how Ki-Jana Hoever got on in his first Premier League outing for Wolves in over three years.

The former midfielder also shares his thoughts on Marshall Munetsi's performance, after the Zimbabwean saw a goal ruled out for offside in the opening stages of the contest and how that could have changed the course of the tie, and how he feels the unwarranted criticism Munetsi receives from the Wolves supporters is similar to his own experiences at the club.

The pair discuss what the side still lack going into their second game of season, the impact Jhon Arias made off the bench and reflect on the moving tributes to Diogo Jota which took place ahead of kick-off on Saturday evening.

All this and more can be found on the latest episode of the Official Wolves Podcast: Wolves Unpacked, which is available on all of the usual podcast providers.
