Wolves confirm restructure of football leadership team

Wolves have made a number of changes to the structure of its football department, including key personnel appointments, ahead of the 2025/26 season.

As part of the club's continued focus on strengthening the professional environment and improving operational efficiency across departments, Domenico Teti has been appointed as the club's director of professional football.

Teti joins the club with a wealth of experience across Europe and the Middle East, and will work as part of the football leadership team to improve the strategy and planning around professional and first-team football, enabling better collaboration and helping to ensure alignment and consistency across the professional environment.

Matt Jackson, who joined the club in 2021, takes on the newly defined position as director of player recruitment and development.

Jackson will work closely with Teti and other senior executives from the football department, but will also be focused on broader club matters as well, including the academy and Wolves Women.

The football leadership team also includes Phil Hayward, who leads the club’s integrated approach to sports science, psychology, player health and wellbeing as Wolves’ newly appointed director of performance.

Long-serving Matt Wild continues in his established role as director of football operations & administration, overseeing football operations, financial efficiency of the football business and governance matters.

Finally, Max Fitzgerald completes the team as PR & communications director. His realigned role is focused on media relations, internal communications and cross-club alignment.

All positions report into executive chairman Jeff Shi and form part of a leadership team at the club's Compton Park training ground that has been formed to provide cohesive support to Vitor Pereira and the first-team.

Shi said: "I’m pleased to welcome Domenico to Wolves as part of our football leadership team. His international background and experience at senior levels will bring fresh insight to the club and strengthen the structure supporting head coach Vitor Pereira and the first-team environment.

"Alongside Matt, Phil, Matt and Max, who have been a key part of the progress we have made recently, this leadership group provides clear expertise across all operational areas, ensuring alignment and strong collaboration throughout the football department.”

Teti said: “I am truly excited to join the Wolverhampton Wanderers family and to feel the passion of its fans, who embody the soul and spirit of this historic club. It is an honour to be part of something so special.

“I look forward to working with Jeff, Vitor, and the rest of the staff and players, contributing to the development of a passionate, forward-thinking, and proactive football culture.”
