The final international fixtures of the 2024/25 campaign take place over the next week and ten members of Vitor Pereira’s Wolves squad have received call ups.
The Nations League finals take place over the weekend, while the under-21 Euros get started, World Cup qualifiers continue and some countries are in friendly action.
Portugal manager Roberto Martinez is preparing his team for the Nations League semi-final against Germany in Munich on Wednesday and he’s called upon the services of Jose Sa and Nelson Semedo. Should they progress, they’ll face ether Spain or France in the final on Sunday.
The Under-21 Euros takes place in Slovakia this summer and Rodrigo Gomes has been called up to the Portugal squad. Their group games come against France on 11th June, Poland on 14th June and Georgia on 17th June.
For Hee Chan Hwang and South Korea, they know one victory in either of their June qualifiers will book their place in the World Cup for next summer. They play Iraq away and Kuwait in Seoul either side of the weekend and Hwang is aiming for his third World Cup appearance.
Santiago Bueno is once again in the Uruguay squad and they can also seal a place in the North American finals next year. They travel to Paraguay before welcoming Venezuela and are sat third in the six qualifying places currently.
Norway are vying for a first World Cup appearance since 1998 and Jorgen Strand Larsen is in their squad for this month’s qualifiers. After winning two from two, they have tougher tasks of Italy in Oslo and Estonia in Tallinn.
Matt Doherty will continue his season with the Republic of Ireland this week and they face friendlies with Senegal in Dublin on Friday and Luxembourg away from home on Tuesday.
Algeria also face two summer friendlies and have once again called up Rayan Ait-Nouri. The wing-back will hope to add another two caps to his tally against Rwanda on Thursday and Sweden on Tuesday.
Burkina Faso have already started their June fixtures with a 2-0 defeat to Tunisia on Monday. Nasser Djiga was an unused substitute but will hope for a return to action when they face Zimbabwe on Friday.
Finally, Pedro Lima has linked up with the Brazil under-20 squad. Having made one appearance at that level before, the Wolves man will hope for more opportunities in friendlies with Iceland, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
