Steve Froggatt is the latest Old Gold Club inductee

Former Wolves winger Steve Froggatt will be the latest guest to be inducted into the Old Gold Club as he appears on the popular podcast this week.

Froggatt, who joined Wolves from West Midlands rivals Aston Villa in 1994, will be the 26th inductee to be interviewed about his time at the club by regular podcast hosts Mikey Burrows and Chris Iwelumo.

The Lincoln-born midfielder will discuss his four-year stint at Molineux when he features on the Old Gold Club, sponsored by Wolverhampton Building Supplies.

The episode will be broadcast during a half hour Facebook and YouTube video this evening at 6pm, before an extended podcast is released on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and all other podcast apps.

Froggatt, who also earnt 17 caps for England under-21s in the early 90s where he scored his sole international goal, joined up with his former Villa boss Graham Taylor when he was signed for Wolves as a one-million-pound man.

During the winger’s four seasons at Molineux, he made 126 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine times in gold and black, as Wolves narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League twice - both times in the First Division play-offs

In Froggatt’s first season at Wolves in 1994/95, he was a regular in the midfield, up until an injury in December saw the 45-year-old miss the remainder of the campaign, which ended in the infamous play-off final defeat to Bolton Wanderers.

Injury once again put Froggatt out of the play-off semi-final against Crystal Palace two years later, after an intermittent spell in Mark McGhee’s line-up throughout the season, returning the next campaign to play his role in helping Wolves to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Froggatt’s episode of the Old Gold Club will be broadcast on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter from 6pm this evening, while the full podcast will be available on all the regular channels afterwards.

The first 25 episodes of the podcast, where guests included Carl Ikeme, Kenny Hibbitt, John Richards, Steve Daley, Mick McCarthy, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Robbie Dennison are also available to listen back on iTunes by clicking here or Spotify here.
