Matt Jarvis joins the Old Gold Club

Wolves’ Championship winning winger and former England international Matt Jarvis is set to be the tenth inductee into the Old Gold Club.

The 32-year-old, who made his one and only appearance for the national team while a player at Molineux, will talk about his five-year career in gold and black when he joins hosts Mikey Burrows and Chris Iwelumo on the club’s new podcast.

One of the vital parts of the Wolves side which claimed promotion to the Premier League in 2009, Jarvis will be this week’s guest during a half hour Facebook and YouTube video, before an extended podcast is released on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Jarvis will discuss the title winning season on the show, as he joins the likes of Carl Ikeme, Kenny Hibbitt and Jack Price as inductees into the Wolverhampton Building Supplies-sponsored Old Gold Club.

Although injuries meant Jarvis was unable to make his debut for Wolves until four months after joining from Gillingham, the winger made a big impact throughout his five years at Molineux.

During his Wolves career, ‘Jarvo’ netted 21 times in 175 matches for the club, making him a hit with both the fans and his teammates.

Jarvis’ form saw him called up to the England team as he became the first Wolves player to play for national team since Steve Bull.

The latest Old Gold Club will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube from 6pm this evening, while the full podcast will be available on all the regular channels afterwards.

The first nine episodes of the podcast with Ikeme, Hibbitt, Price, Tony Daley, Terry Connor, Scott Golbourne, Karl Henry, David Kelly and Ally Robertson are also available to listen back to by clicking here.
