Minkyu Ji has admitted that he visualised the moment of scoring for Wolves in South Korea.
The young attacker netted the equaliser as Wolves under-17s drew 1-1 with FC Seoul in the International Youth Cup on Monday and has expressed his happiness at scoring the club’s first goal of the tournament. With plenty of eyes on Ji, he managed to deliver early into the second half as Richard Walker’s side claimed a point following yesterday’s 2-0 defeat in the opener against Real Sociedad. Ji has also been surprised by the following and support Wolves have received so far in South Korea, admitting he didn’t expect so many fans to turn out.
On the first two games
“It’s been really good and I’ve enjoyed a lot of it. The first game didn’t go so well and maybe we didn’t deserve to win that game, but then the second game I think we showed a lot of heart.
“In the first half we started a bit slow but then as we got into the game, especially second half, we created a lot of chances and were moving the ball much better.”
On his goal
“Thankfully I scored to make it 1-1. We were just on them for the whole game and I feel like we should’ve won the game.
“I’ve visualised this moment and I’m just happy I could produce at the time. We had a lot of chances and on another day we could’ve punished them.”

On the support in South Korea
“I didn’t expect this many people to support us, come down and watch us play. I’m just grateful for that.
“I didn’t know the players would be this good and it’s been pretty challenging, which is good.”
