Under-21s captain Joe Hodge is gunning for a piece of history with Republic of Ireland under-21s as The Boys in Green bid to reach the U21 Euros for the first time in their history. Jim Crawford’s side face a two-legged play-off against Israel which will determine their fate ahead of the 2023 finals in Romania and Georgia.
In the under-19s age group, striker Nathan Fraser helped Republic of Ireland get off to a winning start in the first of three qualifiers for next summer’s U19 Euros in Malta. Fraser was on the scoresheet in Ireland’s 6-0 victory over Gibraltar, coming on as a second half substitute to score the fifth – next up are fixtures against Wales and Hungary.
Dylan Scicluna will be involved in three international friendlies with Australia under-20s in Spain, while younger brother Lucas is away with Malta under-19s.
Wales will be represented by Brayden Clarke and Makenzie Bradbury at under-17 and under-16 level. Meanwhile, Josh Esen and Jimmy Storer are on standby for Wales under-19s and Republic of Ireland under-19s respectively.
