Twenty four hours before their senior counterparts travel to north London to face Spurs, Steve Davis’ young team will do battle in the Black Country, with the game streamed live on Wolves TV and the official Wolves YouTube channel.
Wolves and Spurs have both come through two stages of the prestigious youth competition to reach today’s fifth round tie, with the gold and black comfortably taking down Salford City at Molineux before a dramatic penalty shootout victory against Crystal Palace.
Davis’ side looked like they were heading out at Selhurst Park a few weeks ago, but Nathan Fraser’s added time equaliser took the game to extra-time, and with no more goals in the game, it was decided by penalties.
Having then found themselves 4-2 down in the shootout, Wolves were fortunate that Palace missed the crucial kick and it gave the visitors the chance to fight back to win 6-5 and book their place against Spurs.
The side from the capital have had an easier journey to the fifth round, beating Ipswich Town 5-1 in round three before a dominant 6-1 win at home to West Bromwich Albion in late January.
However, the old gold will believe Spurs are there for the beating this afternoon as they lost 4-2 to Palace – the side Wolves overcame in the last round of the FA Youth Cup – last weekend.
Supporters can watch all the action from Molineux live this afternoon, as the match is streamed online via wolves.co.uk, the Wolves App and the Wolves YouTube channel.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
Regardless of the result this afternoon, head coach Steve Davis believes the match will provide a vital piece of experience to Wolves Academy’s scholars as they look to make it into the professional game.
“The players are happy to get through to the last 16 and have a chance at home. Hopefully we’ll get a few supporters down to come and watch and support the lads.
“It’s another great experience for them. They experience playing under pressure, which is what they need – playing in front of people, the noise of the crowd, playing in a stadium and the pressure alone that brings. It’s new for a lot of these players, particular the younger ones like Mason [Rees], who haven’t experienced this before.
“It’s good that it’s at home, and for me, it’s just nice to be in the last 16 and give ourselves a chance to get through to the last eight.”
