Once again Wolves Aid has taken huge steps to helping young disabled athletes realise their dreams by providing four power assisted wheelchairs.
Various contributors including Wolves Aid, Children in Need, and the fans themselves donated almost £30,000 in order to provide the wheelchairs to four local aspiring sportsmen and women.
Amber McFarlane, Connor Howells, Daniel Dean, and Simon Jordan are all local students and were presented with the wheelchairs at our fixture against Portsmouth on October 3rd. For the boys at least, these wheelchairs mean that they will be able to up their game against local West Midland Power Wheelchair Football teams, when they play for their team, Wolves Warriors.
The wheelchairs were presented by Keith Berry, Chairman of Powerpleas (the local wheelchair charity responsible for organising the fundraising) and representatives from Tettenhall Rotary Club, who helped to organise the two special match day collections that contributed to the final sum.
Wolves Aid, part of the Wolves Community Trust, continues to be the largest charity of its type in football, donating thousands to local Wolverhampton-based charities every year, and is now in its 14th season of providing sports wheelchairs to local young people.
