Rob Marris, MP for Wolverhampton South West, has today praised the work of Wolves Aid, the official charity of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. Wolves Aid was relaunched in February with funding of £150,000 a year from The Morgan Foundation (www.morganfoundation.co.uk) to distribute to local charities and community groups.

According to the Football League Trust, Wolves Aid is now the biggest club charity in football. It has already donated over £40,000 to good causes since its February launch, with even more money pledged. Recent beneficiaries include, Penn Hall School, BDF Newlife and Wolverhampton Multi-Care.

Rob, said: "Wolves Aid is already making a real difference to the local community. It's a prime example of how football can be a force for good. Everyone in the local community, regardless of whether or not they support the club, should be proud that Wolves are leading in the area of charitable giving.

"Wolves Aid is bringing the club even closer to the very centre of the local community. This excellent work and example of good practice by Wolves Aid needs to be brought to the attention of Parliament, which I will do as soon as Parliament resumes."

Jez Moxey, said: "We're very proud of Wolves Aid. We're not aware of any club in English football that distributes these kind of funds directly to local charities and community groups. Wolves Aid complements the work of our Football in the Community scheme that positively impacts thousands of local children and young adults every year.

"We're looking forward to building on the good work of Wolves Aid over the coming months."
