Wolves win penalty shoot-out 4-2
A young Wolves side needed a penalty shoot-out to finally overcome Tipton Town and progress to the third round of the Birmingham Senior Cup.
The Midland Football Alliance team twice came from behind to force the shoot-out against a visiting side that included seven schoolboys in their squad of 16.
Town captain Ross Brown wasn't far away with a looping header in the ninth minute following a free-kick from Nicky Pugh, and Wolves responded with a Kyle Bennett shot over the upright.
Home keeper Wes Cox had to dive to hold on to an Ashley Hemmings header after a cross from Bennett, and then Olly Bashford came to Wolves' rescue with a well timed tackle on Pugh who would otherwise have been clean through.
Hemmings was narrowly off target with a low 25-yard drive, and Nathan Rooney's chip was too far in front of James Spray allowing the Tipton defence to clear.
In first-half stoppage time Ryan Mosedale had a long-range half volley deflected wide of Daniel East's goal.

Wolves took the lead from the spot seven minutes after the resumption. A fluent move involving Spray, Andre Landell and Bennett ended with Rooney being tripped in the area by Brown. Rooney picked himself up and blasted home the spot kick.
Mosedale headed wide as Town looked for a quick reply and then a brief altercation between Hemmings and Ashley Wells led to both players being booked.
Both keepers were called into action within a five minute spell with Cox taking the ball off the foot of Spray who had chased down a long through ball, and East clinging onto a curling free-kick from Pugh under the crossbar.
Town drew level in the 70th minute. Nathan Jones looked to be offside as he ran on to Dan Parker's through ball. But the linesman's flag stayed down and East could only parry Jones's centre into the path of Nicky Campbell who scored with ease.
Hemmings had a chance of restoring the lead when he took a return pass from Spray but his angled shot was wide of the far post and shortly afterwards he headed wide following a Jack Metcalf cross.
The game went into extra-time and Hemmings was unlucky when his shot bounced back of the foot of the post two minutes into the extra 30.
But substitute Liam McAlindon made no mistake in the 101st minute converting from close range after Spray had sprinted down the left and delivered a low centre.
Two minutes later it was all square again with Parker volleying home after the Wolves defence had failed to clear a corner.
There were no real chances for either side in the second period of extra-time and it was Wolves that began the penalty shoot-out with Bennett confidently beating Cox.
Campbell took Town's first kick and East made a marvellous save to put his side in the ascendancy. Hemmings and Louis Harris were then successful with their kicks as was Town's Chris Morris.
When Chris Turner was wide with his effort, it left James Spray with the chance of winning it for Wolves. But Cox dived to save the striker's kick and after Nicky Pugh had converted to make it 3-2, it was left to Paul McCone to hit the winner although Cox did get a hand to the ball.
