Wolves 2 (Salmon 69, Bothroyd 71) Stoke 0

Two goals in two minutes gave Wolves reserves victory over Stoke at the Bucks Head.

The home side began the game at a high tempo that was maintained throughout.

Wolves could have taken the lead in the tenth minute when Darren Ward's header from a corner forced a good save from the Stoke keeper.

Jay Bothroyd also had first half chances set up by Darren Gibson, firing one over the bar and another just wide.

However it was half-way through the second half before the breakthrough came. A shot from Bothryod was parried by the keeper and Mark Salmon pounced to put the ball away from close range on 69 minutes.

Two minutes later the lead was doubled when Kyle Bennett found space and threaded a neat ball through to Bothroyd whose powerful shot from the right hand side of the box flew in.
