John Dunleavy is a County Donegal born defender who has captained the Republic of Ireland at youth level and represented his country at regular intervals, including featuring in the European under-17 Championships.
He is a good reader of the game, has good pace and is highly motivated, and was a regular captain of Wolves under-18 side and a regular in the reserves team.
Initially playing both football and gaelic football, Dunleavy took the decision at the age of 15 to go for the soccer variety and, with a host of clubs including Manchester United and Celtic clamouring for his services, joined Wolves in October, 2006.
The skilful defender signed his first professional contract with Wolves at the end of the 2008/09 season.
Unfortunately he suffered with injury during the first half of the 2009/10 season but recovered over the second half of the campaign to appear for the reserves.
