Nenad Milijaš was a major capture for Wolves at the start of preparations for the Barclays Premier League in the summer of 2009.

The 6ft 2in midfielder arrived at Molineux for an undisclosed fee as an established Serbian international who had played a major part in his country's impressive World Cup qualifying campaign for South Africa in 2010.

He made his first appearance for the club during the game with North Melbourne Fury on the pre-season tour of Australia.

Born in Belgrade, Milijaš started his career with FK Zemun before moving to Red Star Belgrade - or Crvena Zvezda - in 2006.

A first team regular, he made 98 league appearances for the club scoring 37 goals mainly in central midfield but also on the left hand side.

He helped Belgrade to the league title in 2006 and 2007 as well as winning the Serbian Cup in the same years.

He was named Serbian Superliga Player of the Year just prior to moving to Wolves and signing a four-year contract.

Milijaš has secured numerous international honours, initially with the Serbian under-21 team which reached the semi finals of the 2006 European Championships in Portugal.

He helped Serbia clinch qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

His first Wolves goal arrived to spectacular effect from long-range against Bolton in December, 2009 - later voted Goal of the Season - and he quickly followed it up with his second in the subsequent home game with Burnley.

Although he found his chances limited during the second half of the campaign, Milijaš departed for World Cup duty with Serbia saying he was pleased with his position at the club and looking forward to returning to fight for a place in the 2010/11 campaign.
